Electro Image LLC takes business card printing to the next level

Electro Image LLC, (http://www.electroimagellc.com/) a Chesterfield based printing services and graphics company, announced the addition of Lenticular and Akuafoil business cards to their wide range of products like booklet printing

Lenticular and Akuafoil business card printing are the “hot” new products in a small business’ tool kit, allowing companies’ “miniature billboards” to stand out in the crowd. Lenticular technology or Akuafoil printing adds a new dimension to ordinary, everyday business cards. They also offer an extensive selection of design choices and 21 point thickness of Lenticular business cards assures durability. These cards will not only stand out in a pack of business cards gathered at a networking function, but they will also endure more handling (16 point thickness for Akuafoil cards). They will last longer than ordinary business cards and are a unique addition to a company’s range of marketing materials.

Samples of Lenticular and Akuafoil business cards can be seen at  Electro Image’s website, http://www.electroimagellc.com/products/business-stationery/business-cards.htm

Lenticular business cards are interactive and can be produced with two or three images on the front side, allowing two or three messages to appear that help to separate businesses from their competitors, providing an edge that helps them to stand out and get them noticed. Lenticular custom printing technology was created in the 1940s but has evolved over time to show more motion and increased depth. Lenticular printing technology utilizes a distinct plastic lens which produces changing images when the business card is tilted in the customer’s hands. An example of an industry for which Electro Image would produce a Lenticular business card would be an Orthodontist.  The Orthodontist’s business card would display the company’s name and information and perhaps a graphic of an orthodontist dental appliance or braces.  When the card is tilted, the braces or dental appliance simultaneously appears and disappears on the graphic, creating a spectacular, interactive effect. The business contact information is static and is printed on the back side of the card

In order to produce Lenticular business cards, Electro Image uses the customer’s images and creates a “swapping” effect in which each image disappears and reappears as it is moved up and down.  The business card backing can also be printed in normal four color process. Lenticular cards are very durable and substantial; total thickness with plastic and 4D viewer combined is .21pt. However, the 3D effect appears solely on the front, or most prominent side, of the card,

vinyl decal, vinyl banners, custom printing, online printingInteresting blog published in MyZeroWaste.com

While I admit recycling a vinyl banner isn’t something I need to do every day, these things catch us out from time to time, especially in the work place after conferences or promotions.

I had an email from Andrea who wrote “We’ve been doing a bit of a clear out at work and have some vinyl banners and vinyl decals that we no longer need.

As you can imagine, I don’t want them just thrown out and have tried to find out how I can get rid of them in the most sustainable way.

Turning them myself into bags (which is the main suggestion I have found for them) is not really an option for me and I have tried to see if I can find anybody who takes these sorts of materials to reuse or recycle but with not much luck.

I was hoping that you might have some ideas or contacts who could help? (If I have no luck I will see if anybody on my freegle group wants them).

Well it’s over to you my friends. When it comes to artistry and creative ideas with sticky backed plastic, or even vinyl banners and old washing up liquid bottles, I am back of the queue.
However I know some of you will have some fabulous ideas and if you happen to know of a company who recycles vinyl or custom printing products, we’re all ears!

To be honest, here at Zero Waste Towers I’d probably keep some. We run a wood burner and tarpaulin is a great way to keep stacks of wood dry while it seasons, so I’d see it as a free resource. I’m also wondering if schools might like them – for messy play in reception classes.

On my travels around the internet I found a list of ‘certified recyclers’ of vinyl, but I would imagine these are for business collections and printing services and there are so many on there I wouldn’t know where to begin.

Vinyl gets bad press and has been declared ” the worst plastic for the environment”, after a 2 year investigation by Greenpeace. The environmental group say that additives in PVC pose imminent risk to humans, especially children and they are concerned about the amount of dioxins released during the lifecycle of PVC.

Printers

Indigo is very different, it works with up to 15 different colors, and with the compatibility for the pantone matrix gives designers the peace of knowing that it will look the same on screen as on print out, furthermore, since the ink is mixed with oil and with an electric process adhered to the paper it saves the need for a gloss cover giving it the same protection against dust and humidity.
