The new evolution of Printing Services

A name that doesn’t tell us much, “INDIGO”. But for Digital Printing Services Companies this name means faster deliveries, state of the art results and endless capabilities.

The HP Indigo Printing System is a professional printing equipment that is composed of three modules:

a. Feeder: This is where the paper is located, depending on the model it can use individual sheets of paper from various sizes to label and paper rolls on bigger models.

b. Printer: This is the central piece where all the printing process occurs.

c. Receiver: This is where the finished prints end up for the person in charge to get them.

One of the most important features of the INDIGO System is that you don’t have to worry about paper soaking or about using special absorption paper, using a special electrical process, the ink is mixed with Imaging Oil, turning it into a very special and thin plastic layer that sticks to the paper. The ink is not absorbed into the paper and gives it a shinny glossy look.

Another very important feature of the INDIGO system is that it doesn’t use 4 four colors (CMYK) like normal printing systems, this state of the art machine can use from either 11 or 15 different colors that can be mixed in a special chamber prior to print and supports the use of the PANTONE color system which allows the customer to have a color transference that matches exactly what he sees on the screen.

This is very important because normally a customer had to settle with a “close to” kind of color in the print outs because of color separation needed for CMYK printers. With the INDIGO process all the customer has to do is give the PANTONE codes to the Printing Company and they’ll use an exact match wheter it’s a business card or a brochure or a poster.

Finally we have to mention that INDIGO system’s print speed allow up to 200 pages in full color and over 300 in monochromatic printing.
